Escape the Room

I read about this place on an article in the newspaper and I knew I had to check it out. Escape the Room AZ is a fun interactive game that consists of being trapped with a group of people in a room and finding your way out in 60 minutes or less. The room is full of clues and puzzles that lead one to another and, ultimately, to finding the key or keys needed to escape. It is a game of mind challenges but also of team and cooperation. Escape the Room AZ, located in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, offers three scenarios: The Apartment, Escape the 80’s and The Western Bank Heist. Depending on the room it can fit between 8 and 12 people.

I will not reveal any details of the rooms to preserve the integrity of the game. However, I will say that in the bank heist you have to rob the bank and then escape with the loot, so it has an added plot to the adventure. In the other 2 scenarios you have to literally escape the room.

If you don’t have a group of 8 or 12 people, you can book your adventure and you will be teamed up with other people. In our case, we invited a group of friends and did the Bank Heist. It turned out to be a great plan with friends! And well, we earned some bragging rights cause… We escaped!

They take your picture after you come out, either if you escaped or not. Our picture has a glare and our time is not clearly appreciated, so just to keep bragging a little bit more, I will say that we escaped in 47 minutes and 15 seconds!

If you want to check out this place, it is located at 7017 E. Main Street, Scottsdale, AZ. You can book through their webpage Tickets are $28 plus taxes and fees per person ($32.23 total).
